About

About Acorn

Acorn has been helping Islanders who have a disability or long-term health condition since 1991.

Acorn is a social enterprise which provides employment training and support for people with a range of disabilities and enduring health conditions, who might otherwise struggle to find employment in the open labour market.

How does it work?

Acorn Enterprises is the trading company of the registered charity Jersey Employment Trust. It comprises:

Acorn Reuse Centre
Repairing, upcycling and retailing goods which have been donated by members of the public.

Acorn Woodshack
A wood recycling workshop for reclaimed timber, upcycled wooden furniture and quality gifts and home wares.

Acorn Nursery
Supplying a quality range of bedding plants as well as some perennials and shrubs.

Acorn Café
For home-cooked local food, serving breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas (operated as a concession).

Investing in people

All trading income generated by Acorn is reinvested with the aim of supporting people with a disability or long-term health condition into employment.
