Client Training

The Acorn Training & Development Service offers individuals who have a disability or long-term health condition the chance to engage in a variety of training projects, work experience placements at Acorn or volunteering opportunities in the community.

We have three business areas: Acorn Reuse, Acorn Nursery and the Acorn Woodshack where we can develop a client's employability skills in a safe and supportive work environment.

Individuals will learn new skills as well as teamwork and time management, while building their confidence and self-esteem.

Everything produced in our projects is sold in our Acorn shop, generating an income which is invested back into the charity to create more work and training opportunities.

Our aim wherever possible is to encourage progression onto our Community Volunteering Team or to JET’s Employment Service, helping each individual to achieve their career goals.
